Sometimes life can get hectic and when life gets hectic, we tend to let our diet and exercise slip. I’m guilty of it. When Zack and I were moving cross-country, I ended up having one big “cheat month”. It was horrible, you guys. I also didn’t know that I was pregnant yet either so I ended up feeling even more guilty once I got that positive pregnancy test. But during that month, I wasn’t at the gym since half the time was spent in the car or living in hotel rooms and I was eating way too many cheeseburgers, milkshakes and fries (my guilty pleasure combination…especially while traveling). Coming from someone who had spent 12 months getting healthy and making better choices for my health and fitness, I was incredibly disappointed in myself for letting my eating habits slip so easily during our trip.

Before leaving Maine, Zack’s mom packed us a ton of healthier snack options for the car ride which helped us a ton (although we still ended up eating bad for actual meals). She packed everything from fruits, to beef jerky to hard boiled eggs. We had just about everything you could think of in the car. Now that we’re more settled and I’m pregnant and constantly up and moving around, I’ve made it a priority to fill our kitchen with healthier snack options. That way, whenever I reach for something to snack on, it’s very likely that it’s good for me. This allows me to snack as much as I want without having to worry about consequences. So today I’m sharing some of my favorite healthy snacks for busy women!

  • Apples and peanut butter
  • Bananas and peanut butter
  • Veggies and dip
  • Fruits
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Triscuits and hummus
  • Plain oatmeal topped with fresh berries
  • Wheat thins
  • Mixed nuts
