31 Halloween Movies to Binge Watch Today

31 Halloween Movies to Binge Watch Today | Why Hello Lovely

Happy Halloween everyone! What are your crazy plans for tonight? Any fun parties? Taking your kids trick-or-treating? I’d love to hear what you’re all up to! And while you’re all out enjoying the holiday, we will be more than happy to be spending the day/night on the couch with some popcorn and movies. I don’t know what it is about this holiday, but the older I get, the less interested I am in it. Growing up, I obviously went trick-or-treating every year. Once I was too old for that, I moved onto parties with friends or bar hopping once I was old enough to drink. But dressing up just isn’t always my thing and getting drunk at a huge party isn’t always my cup of tea either. It’s fun for a little while and then I always get to a point in the night where I’m just ready to go home and relax. Happens every time.

So this year, we fun plan to do absolutely nothing. That’s right. Nothing. Zack has spent this entire morning playing video games while I’ve been on my MacBook getting some much-needed work done. I’ll probably go out and get some Starbucks in a little bit and some food. I’ll definitely be hitting the gym later tonight just like I would on any other Monday. So really today is just going to be laid back and normal. Just like an average Monday around here.

Then tonight, we’ll probably order some take out or make something easy here at home and spend the night curled up on the couch, watching movies. How can it get any better than that?! I mean, really. That’s a perfect night in our book. We probably wont even pass out candy due to the dog. He’s already going to be a mess tonight when he hears kids walking around our complex all night. I’m even tempted to put up a sign telling people not to knock on the door. That way he wont freak out every 5 minutes. We’ll see. We haven’t really created a plan for how we’re going to handle that yet.

If you’re like us and would much rather spend this Halloween in, then a movie day is just what you need. So here are 31 awesome Halloween movies you can binge watch today. I tried to include a big mix of movies on this list including cartoons, Disney Channel movies, horror movies, and of course the oldies. We are watching Hocus Pocus tonight! Cool to see it as #1 on your list. My wife and sister-in-laws are all appalled that I have never seen it. Happy Halloween 😀

    • What?! I don’t understand people who have never seen it before! haha I really thought EVERYONE had seen it. Let me know how you like it! It’s one of my favorites 🙂

  • We need to watch more Halloween films. I think we just did Beetlejuice so far.

    • I maybe watched one this entire month haha I’m just now catching up. Then tomorrow, I’ll switch to Christmas movies lol

  • Jen

Yes to all of these! I am all about Halloween movies.

  • Oyinkan Ogunleye

I’m not really into Halloween but neither did I know there were this many movies.

    • I actually had a hard time narrowing it down to 31 haha I had about 45, but since October has 31 days, I wanted to keep it to 31. There are so many movies out there!

  • Lauren Norton

Wow! 31 movies! What a great and inclusive list. How many do you think you will get through tonight? 😛 I am not going out tonight either. I celebrated this weekend at a tame dinner party and dressing up for work at the mall.

    • Thanks Lauren! We got through about 4 of them and then switched to Parks and Rec haha we’ve been binge watching it lately and my husband very much wanted to get back to it. So my movie marathon wasn’t as long as I had anticipated. BUT it’s been super relaxing. We had next to no trick or treaters so it’s been super quiet and relaxing. Absolutely perfect lol

Pretty sure I love at least 90% of these movies listed! Especially Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic <3

    • These movies are all quite popular. I don’t know too many people who hate the movies on this list haha Hocus Pocus is always my go to for this time of year. And Halloweentown. I grew up on those so I have to keep the tradition going each year.

  • LoveinTheAirForce

I’m spending tonight binge-watching the Treehouse of Horror specials of The Simpsons. They just need to put them all on one disc so I can say it’s a movie.

  • Lauren Jane

Practical Magic is one of my all time favorite movies. I am so anxious for my kids to be old enough to watch it.

    • I’m sad I never watched Practical Magic this year. I actually haven’t seen it in a few years. I keep meaning to and it never happens 🙁 maybe I’ll watch it tomorrow before all the Christmas movies come out haha

  • I don’t think that Hocus Pocus and Casper could EVER become old to me, haha! I love those movies! I can totally relate about just wanting to stay home and hang out. As appealing as all of the craziness that Halloween has to offer can sometimes be, I usually end up thinking, “this is fun – but I COULD be home right now!” And this movie list is the perfect way to spend that time. Thanks for posting!

    • I definitely don’t mind a fun night out with friends some years. But yeah. I love being home haha it’s been pretty crazy around here. Lots of Netflix and candy. I couldn’t have asked for a better, more relaxing Monday night lol

  • Christine Goulbourne

I would have to say that my top favorites would be Hocus Pocus, Halloween, Scream, Practical Magic, and Sixth Sense because I loved being tricked in the end!

    • I love the older movies like Halloween. That one is a must this time of year. I used to binge watch them all every Halloween growing up. Love them!

  • My husband and I always go to our friend’s house for a party. Our friend group is rather large, so there is usually 20-30+ people there!! The party is on the Saturday before Halloween, so everyone can come!

    • That sounds like so much fun! We went to a party and passed out candy a couple years ago and we had a blast. Last year, I went bar hopping with friends since Zack was overseas. But this year, we’re in a brand new place with zero friends, and staying home sounded like a wonderful idea haha so glad we did it. It was so relaxing. Sometimes it good to skip a holiday. There’s alway next year lol

  • I’ll be watching Hocus Pocus tonight, even if it is after Halloween! Love this list!

    • Haha I plan to watch a couple of these tonight as well. I really failed this year with my Halloween movie watching. I’ll do better with my Christmas movies.

  • Allison Ellzey

Hocus Pocus and Scooby Doo were on my list! I can’t watch SUPER scary movies so I like the ones that have a bit of humor in them too!

    • Scooby Doo will always be one of my favorite movies no matter how old I am haha 24 years old and I still find it amazing.

  • Justine Y

We love watching all the Harry Potter movies around this time too. I’m not sure why but once Fall comes around we just cycle through and watch them all throughout the holiday season. I guess nothing says festive holidays like Harry Potter, lol.

    • We’re big Harry Potter fans haha marathons this time of year are the absolute best!

  • Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown are my two go-tos for Halloween movies every year! Sadly, this year I was lame and didn’t watch either!

    • Haha I failed pretty bad this year as well. I only watched about 5 or 6 movies the entire month. There’s always next year I guess lol
